IPL PhotoFacial Skin Rejuvenation
Your skin should be a physical manifestation of your inner spirit: bright, clear, distinctly you. Rejuvenating your skin helps ensure that the face you show the world each day is the one that matches who you are inside — where it counts.
Picture-Perfect Skin with Photorejuvenation
IPL photorejuvenation (laser rejuvenation) uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to correct a number of common skin complaints, including:
- Red and brown spots
- Rosacea (enlarged facial blood vessels)
- Mild to moderate acne scarring
- Large pores
- Stretch marks
- Broken capillaries or spider veins
- Sun damage
- Age spots
- Pigment imperfections
- Fine lines and wrinkles
How Does IPL Photofacial Work?
IPL Photofacial emits multiple wavelengths into the skin and targets pigment-producing cells below the epidermis. The light energy is converted to heat energy and destroys the hyperactive melanin-producing cells in the layers of your skin, eventually dispersing pigmented areas. The spots are pulled to the surface, eventually turning into a coffee-ground-like texture that eventually flakes off revealing beautiful, radiant skin beneath.
What Can I Expect During Treatment at EuroPhoria Personal and Medical Spa?
During any treatment at EuroPhoria Personal and Medical Spa, your comfort is our greatest concern. Our medical staff will provide you with special eyewear to protect your eyes from the light used during the procedure. A cool gel is then placed on the area being treated.
Our nurse practitioner will then use a handheld device with a smooth glass surface to focus high energy beams of light on problem areas.
Although we do all we can to ensure your comfort, you may feel a slight stinging sensation, much like a snapping rubber band. This is especially true during your first treatment session. As your skin begins to clear, the process will become even more comfortable.
After 30-90 minutes, the nurse will wipe off the gel, clean the area with a warm cloth, and apply a moisturizer with sunscreen. If there is any mild swelling, you might receive a cold pack to apply for five or ten minutes.
What Can I Expect After Treatment at EuroPhoria Personal and Medical Spa?
After treatment, you can expect some redness, darkening of brown spots, and light swelling. These symptoms usually disappear within one week.
How Long Does it Take to See Results?
As with all beauty treatments, there is some variation among patients. However, most people achieve optimum results after 3 to 5 months, which consists of a full series of 3-5 treatments spaced 1 month apart. The more skin damage you have, the more apt you are to need a longer course of treatment. Some instances of severe brown or red skin require more than 5 sessions. Expect to see gradual improvement with each treatment.
Who Is/Is Not a Good Candidate for IPL Photofacial?
People with a higher Fitzpatrick score, who have melasma, or who have a tan are not good candidates for the IPL Photofacial. Since the light rays are drawn to pigment, people with darker skin tones can actually experience discoloration and worsened melasma patches with this procedure.
We recommend IPL for our fairer skinned patients who have brown discoloration, age spots, and freckles, particularly on the face and chest.
