Why is Dysport in Demand?

FDA approved for cosmetic use since 2009, Dysport has been widely used and much loved. Its main difference from Botox is that it’s made of a thinner gel, allowing it to spread more easily and achieve results faster than Botox. This thinner gel also helps Dysport to disperse very smoothly, which means that it’s harder to tell where the product begins and ends.

Over time, the muscles above and between the eyebrows repeatedly contract and tighten, causing wrinkles. But with just one injection into each of the five points between and over the eyebrows, Dysport can reduce the appearance of these wrinkles. Dysport’s formula blocks the signal that goes from the nerve to the muscles, which ultimately results in a decrease of muscle activity and temporary prevention of the contraction of the muscles that are causing frown lines.

The Dysport Difference

  • Particularly effective for the forehead lines, “11” lines, and crow’s feet
  • Treatment generally takes just 10-20 minutes
  • Long-lasting, natural-looking results up to four months
  • Minimal downtime
  • Low risk of side effects
  • FDA-approved and clinically proven to be safe
  • Provides a more youthful appearance and boosted confidence

What to Expect with Dysport

Dysport is administered via injections. Before treatment, we will cleanse, prep, and numb your skin (if needed). Once you’re ready, the injections will be delivered using a small, fine needle directly into targeted muscles of the face.

There is very little downtime required with Dysport, but you may experience common and temporary side effects including swelling, bruising, tenderness, nausea, inflammation, or a headache. We recommend avoiding the following:

  • Applying makeup (for four hours)
  • Excessive heat (hot yoga, showers, saunas, hot tubs, baths, etc.)
  • Yoga (for four hours)
  • Lying down or reclining (for six hours after treatment)
  • Alcohol (for 24 hours)
  • Blood-thinning medications and supplements (for two days)
  • Rubbing or putting pressure on your face (1-3 days)
  • Positioning your head below your heart (1-3 days)
  • Tanning (one week)
  • High-intensity exercise (one week)
  • Facials of any kind (for one week)

Results can be seen in 1-3 days and typically last 4-6 months. Touch-up treatments can be performed every 90 days.
